solid update.

/clap.

I laughed at the 'played HA and got spiked by rits as always' remark though, that was gold.

I wasn't really affected by this update at all. I guess I'm upset that Faintheartedness got nerfed. You wanna know something weird? I never even thought to use it in PvP. I've used Shadow of Fear though b/c its a blanket hex.

Very nice update. Now we just have to brace ourselves for the army of PvE'ers that are going to whine about SF being nerfed.

It's funny, cause I am a PvEer who has an Ele, and I've used SF with reckless abandon - and I love this nerf. I honestly think it's not enough of a hit. It's just too damn powerful in PvE. I don't like the nerf to Mark of Rodgort, though, it seemed balanced enough before. Ah well, I'll still use it, it's just going to be a bit more of a pain.

Although this update is what, 95% nerf, I really don't mind it at all. Seems like decent balance changes here.

Well given I'm a primary PvEist and my main character is an Elementalist so I guess what I'm getting at is nerf Searing Flames to also have a 3 second recharge time as well. This nerf hinders it more but still could use that extra second on the recharge.
Though Mark of Rodgort didn't need the have that long of a recharge.

Although I try to dabble in both worlds, I am considered more of a PvEer and I like this update. As much as I liked SF making Urgoz runs easier, the skill had it coming. The nerf on hexes was also a welcome relief as they really were overpowered. Rit spike probably does deserve a good nerf, but they'll have to be careful with that one. Too much of a nerf and Rits will be used for little more than spirit spamming in a lot of places, which is something a lot of people hate as well.

I'm also pleasantly surprised to see such a good response over an update as opposed to the normal flamefest. Maybe there is hope for the GW community yet, lol.

Is SF powerful? Yes. However, what makes it seem more powerful is that it's basically the only usable elite for a pyromancer. If you're going to nerf SF, at least give us something else to work with (not that I'm implying that SF was nerfed to the point of it being unusable, it's still a great spell).

Balance patches are usually 2-3 months apart. Enjoy this while it lasts. :\

Yay for STARTING (not finished, I HOPE) toning down the hex meta!!!

The buff to Hex eater signet actually makes it PLAYABLE. Gee wiz.

Convert Hexes is more playable, but it demands energy so we're more likely to see it on a ele/mes/necro than a monk.
I have seen many a positive remark about convert hexes, its a very interesting spell right now to take against hexways. And I think you are right about where the spell is going to land, even at 0 or 1 protection it is interesting, while the midliner can use soem nice energy management to control the cost this spell.

Awsome update, I'd say more but I'd be repeating what you all said.

Good one. Hexes were too strong and some still are. Gheyheartedness had a very long duration.

The "Crippling Slash" change was needed, it was too good, too easy to apply.

A "miss cap" is needed. Price of Failure + Spirit of Failure + Reckless Haste=idiocy - or scale the miss percentage with the attribute.

Warrior
* Enraging Charge: decreased adrenaline gained to 0..4 strikes

...why? It often only just gave enough adrenaline to trigger my first skill as it was...i cant see the reasoning behind this nerf.

As for Searing Flames...does anyone have what it was before the nerf, to compare them?

You couldn't have explained the reasoning better - you could adrenal spike without any build time. Enraging, strike, spike. That was too strong.

Wow! I'm getting frustrated about the ele nerfs!!! If you want to nerf every single ele spell why don't you just remove eles from the game. It will make us live longer :P

EDIT: Are ANet trying to make mez like eles by buffing their skills and lowering ours, to make a balance between us two? Although ele skills are still useable better make all skill balances then one by one (shock after shock) :P
Hehehe it's HEX REMOVAL DAY today ^^

the nerf to cripling slash makes sense but why nerf that AND enraging charge? and some of the hex nerfs... are just sad.
please, take the time and give skills a pve function and a pvp function. otherwise these pvp-based balance changes are going to kill any hope for guild wars 2 in a lot of people
